Ingredients:
- 1 block extra-firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 burger buns
- Your favorite burger toppings lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc
Instructions:
Slice the pressed tofu into 6 equal patties
In a shallow dish, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, and black pepper to make the marinade
Place tofu patties in the marinade, turning to coat both sides
Let marinate for at least 30 minutes, flipping halfway through
Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat
Grill tofu patties for 4-5 minutes per side, until charred and heated through
Toast burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until lightly golden
Assemble burgers by placing tofu patties on toasted buns and adding desired toppings
Serve hot and enjoy!
